About us

A collaborative network bringing together organisations committed to improving the health, wellbeing and social and economic outcomes of communities across North Manchester.

Our History

Where we came from

The North Manchester Inclusion Partnership (NMIP) began from a partnership meeting held on 4 November 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The partnership formed in response to concerns that Black African communities were experiencing a disproportionate impact with COVID-19, alongside lower vaccination uptake and barriers to accessing health information and support.

The early meetings brought together statutory organisations and community partners to better understand these inequalities and identify ways of working together. Over time, the partnership developed into NMIP and expanded to include a wider range of community, voluntary and statutory organisations across North Manchester.

Today, NMIP continues to bring organisations and communities together to improve health and wellbeing, reduce inequalities, strengthen community connections and ensure that the voices of diverse communities are heard.

Connect local organisations

We bring together voluntary and community organisations, faith groups, health and care services, housing providers, schools, local businesses and public sector partners.

Make support easy to find

We maintain a free, open directory of local support so residents can get the best support to attain their best health and wellbeing.

Strengthen the network

We support collaborative programmes across health inequalities, mental health and wellbeing, community engagement, health literacy, food security, young people and older people.

Our Journey

Key projects and milestones

First Funded Project

Community Dialogues

Community Dialogues was the first funded project delivered through NMIP. The project was funded through the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) and consisted of online community dialogue sessions.

The sessions created opportunities for community members and organisations to discuss health concerns, share experiences and strengthen communication between local communities and services.

Early NMIP Project

NemCoH

NemCoH was another early NMIP-funded project, delivered by FreshRB. The project explored the impact of COVID-19 on young people and people from marginalised communities, helping to bring forward experiences that may otherwise have been overlooked.

The project contributed to wider discussions around health inequalities, community engagement and inclusion.
